Questions and answers about house dust mite allergy

Questions and answers about house dust mite allergy

My doctor has diagnosed a house dust mite allergy. What should I do now?

If your doctor has prescribed intermediate payments, so-called encasings, the next step is for you to contact your health insurance company. Some health insurance companies reimburse the costs, while others refuse to pay any contribution.

My health insurance company orders the encasings for me. What is the next step?

First of all, you should tell your health insurance company the correct measurements of your mattress. If your health insurance company then orders encasings for you, we will also settle the bill directly with them. If necessary, you will receive an invoice from us with the goods for an additional payment or a personal contribution. The delivery time takes 2-3 days.

How do I measure my mattress?

Measure the height, width and length of the mattress, because the encasings completely enclose your mattress and it is sealed by closing the zipper. If your mattress has different heights, please indicate the largest height.

Do I need a custom-made product?

If the dimensions of your mattress differ from the standard sizes, then you will need a custom-made product. We make custom-made products for all encasing sizes, i.e. not only for simple mattresses, blankets and pillows, but also for caravan mattresses, neck support pillows, cuddle pillows, etc. In case of doubt please call us at 07382 23 20 10, we will be happy to help you.

Are there mattresses made of materials that are not colonized by mites?

Yes, but these are specially treated fabrics or foams. As mattress cover material this is e.g. AMICOR. In case of fabrics that are not specially treated, as long as the mites find acceptable living conditions (high humidity, warmth, darkness) and have enough food (skin scales), they can be found in any kind of textile.

What do you offer in encasings, i.e. allergy intermediate covers?

We offer two qualities of fabrics: Allergen and AllergEvo. Both are equivalent in terms of mite protection, only the handling is different. The exact descriptions of these substances can be found under Allergen and AllergEvo. A comparison of the substances to each other as a decision guidance you will find under Pro and Contra AllergEvo vs.

Can I also exchange the encasings?

If you have ordered the wrong size, you can exchange the encasings without any problems if the goods are unused (if it is not a custom-made product). Note the size you actually need on the delivery bill and send it back with the goods. Since encasings are a hygienic article, we ask for your understanding that the goods cannot be taken back if they have already been used.
