The optimum moisture transport of TENCEL® is unique compared to synthetic fibers. The function of TENCEL® supports this natural fiber property. This ensures an optimum skin climate. Synthetic fibers cannot absorb moisture into the fiber interior.

Compared to cotton, TENCEL® can absorb moisture in a controlled and regular manner. In addition, TENCEL® absorbs 50 % more moisture than cotton. Polyester, on the other hand, does not absorb moisture. TENCEL® can absorb up to 50% moisture without CoolAndDry mattress cover feeling wet, supporting a relaxing sleep.

The skin is the largest human respiratory organ. Human skin protects us, regulates body temperature and maintains our water balance. TENCEL® in the Cool And Dry mattress cover supports these functions and acts as a second skin.

Subjective well-being is also strongly dependent on the surface structure of the fibers. Particularly rough fibers can lead to skin irritation. TENCEL® on the other hand has an exceptionally smooth surface and guarantees a gentle caressing sensation on the skin. The reason for the fine fiber surface is the low fiber stiffness. This gives the Cool And Dry mattress cover a smooth, cool feel.

Microorganisms find no habitat. The perfect moisture management also prevents the unrestricted reproduction of mites in the bed. Based on the test in a mattress (polyurethane foam with integrated TENCEL® powder) it was shown that the majority of an applied mite population dies off. With a conventional product, on the other hand, the mite count increases 17-fold within 6 weeks. The mite concentration decreases drastically due to the moisture management of TENCEL®. TENCEL® buffers moisture and the mites die off. This is why this mattress cover is also particularly recommended for people allergic to house dust and animal hair.

The environmental aspect is also not to be sneezed at:

Eucalyptus wood from sustainable forestry is used for the production of TENCEL®. The land for cultivation cannot be used for any other agricultural purpose. Cotton, on the other hand, requires agricultural land and thus competes with food cultivation. Furthermore, the yield per unit area of TENCEL® is on average 6 times higher than cotton. Cotton also requires 10-20 times more water than TENCEL®.

Mattress covers made of Cool And Dry are not quilted, the padding is woven in using a special weaving technique. This means that the unquilted mattress cover can actually be washed and, above all, easily re-covered.
